contract
hey guys, I think we shud discuss the contract together, there are some things that I dont agree with,
2. RULES GOVERNING EMPLOYMENT
2.1.2 appear at the theatre no later than one-half(1 1/2) hr prior to rehearsals and/or performance time.
ok fine, not abig deal, but 30 mins for rehearsals is much better, kalau performance, bulihlah, pasal, makeup and stuff
2.1.8 Be allowed to leave a Production at any time during rehearsal or performance. Immediately upon deciding to leave the production, the performer shall notify the Company in writing, within 14 days prior to leaving
Keep this in mind for later
2.1.9 Arrange for costume and/or prop reimbursement with the company before such items are used in the production.
2.2 EXCLUSIVE RIGHTS
2.2.3 Performers have a primary obligation to the company as full-time employee and will not accept work for other employers which interferes in any fashion with their obligation to the company without written permission from the company.
just now joel said, treat this as a 2nd career, but now he says PRIMARY obligation, means ASLI is top priority, . does he mean that our jobs have to take a backseat? How about ppl with school? when u guys have exams, assignments. How about me adi feez wen keej that alredi have careers in the entertainment industry. So this one we have to discuss with him.
2.3 CLAIMS
2.3.2 Agents and Attorneys. In no case claims of performers under performance agreement contracts can be handled or enforced by agents or attorneysof the Performer unless the company consents in writing
if anything should happen and we want to sue for anything (JUST INCASE) we cant unless they say yes. and whos gonna say yes to being sued.
2.3.3 Time limit in filing claim remember we have a time limit of 28days
2.4 CLOTHES, COSTUMES AND MAKEUP
2.4.1 blah blah blah, the performer shall not be required to furnish ordinary and conventional make-up for the purpose of the production.
what does this mean?
2.4.3 Cleaning and Upkeep, here it says we have to keep all our own costumes clean, including wigs, shoes, blah blah blah, so if the costume has to be dry cleaned we have to do it ourselves? what if the drycleaning place screws it up? canatu?
3. DELAY OR ABANDONMENT OF PRODUCTION
3.1 before rehearsals
the company may abandon the production at any time prior to the beginning of rehearsals by giving performer written notice thereof. the company shall not be liable to any claims and/or reimbursements to the performer for any cost incurred.
3.2 During rehearsals and performances, they can do it whenever they want by sending a written notice
3.3 Production cancellation shud d company cancel the said production prior to the start of employment, the company may terminate any outstanding contracts for the said performance by giving no less than 14 dys notice.
alright. this means that they can basically cancel whatever and whenever they want, which is actually their right, but we arent gonna be paid for it, no claims and they wont reimburse us, meaning all those times that we sacrificed work school shows wat have you will just be a waste. and by saying written notice, they mean SMS bulih!
4 PERFORMERS PERSONAL PROPERTY AND BELONGINGS
the company shall NOT be liable for ANY loss and/or damage to:
4.1 performers property used and/or to be used in connection with the production covered by this agreement but it says in 2.1.9 that we can be reimbursed, opposite jua tu
5. PUBLICITYAPPEARANCES AND PHOTOGRAPHS
the whole section says that they can tell us to go to photo shoots 24 hrs before. and as explained just now by joel, they can use whichever photo they want and its not our decision, even if we think we look like crap in them
in addition they say that all ORAL agreements are NOT binding. guys read ur contracts, lets discuss this and try get some of this changed, but if u guys think its ok. mana saja, but i am not happy with the contract, cause we are not protected. only the company, producers and director. im not saying make a big fuss, but at least lets all get together and discuss this brabis. this sunday? ok?
