u wanna know my verdict on the elusive killer of the sultry Empress Wan? i believe its.. *snooooooooooooooooooooooore*

*snort* ..wait, WHAT?? what happened? was i talkin in my sleep? damnit.

hahaha alrite, so i slept on the most part. but it dont mean i havent got critiques of my own!

so lets start of with the GOOD - amazing costume design, not to mention BREASTAKING directing (Feng Xiaogang is worthy of a Cannes nomination, no question!!), out-of-this-world set design (remember the room where the emperor's armor was?? i LOVED that ceiling! damnit. dont plagiarize NJ, DONT!) and an exquisite musical score (music throughout the movie is soothing and exciting at the same time).

now the BAD (basically the explanation to why i slept) - SLOOOOOOOOOOOOW! mati wah slownya ah. "so kiss me goodbye" jua tu. the goddamn movie ran for a good 2 hours!! sheeeeet. artistically, the movie was magnificent! but they were concentrating way too much on the artistic value of the movie. not for a second did they consider how the people who only got, say, 3 hours of sleep the night before to react to a tortoise of a movie like this. i say, even if a dude hadnt slept for a decade, a movie should have that power to engage the sleep-deprived dude to stay up and stay tuned to the storyline. its a test to see just how captivating the movie really is.

i know what D's sayin.. "Alrite, CHILL~ NJ." hahahahaha! just voicing out cutes. lup u ah??

anyway, as a little giveaway to y'all who dont realize just how beautifully crafted 'The Banquet' is, i give u the trailer... (maybe it'll persuade u to go catch the flick.)
